Cinemira International Kids Film Festival

Cinemira is the very first International Children’s Film Festival in Hungary. The festival program consists hundreds of short films aimed at children of all ages who can explore the world’s multicoloured culture through live action and animated films. The featured films entertainingly deal with themes, such as friendship, family and also environmental protection and children’s rights. The festival also has an interactive side: the young guests can participate in move-making, casting, dubbing, makeup and stunt workshops of the Children’s Film Academy. Cinemira will return this year!

Nominated by Super Channel:

“In the middle of the visual noise that surrounds young people of today, a festival that addresses children, and does it in a language and through imagery that is adequate for them is extremely important. This generation is equipped with all the tools but we have to teach them how to use those. And it is not less important what they see on the screens. During the program of Cinemira besides getting an introduction to high quality visual culture, the participants get an insight into the background of animation and filmmaking. The brave ones can enter their own works in the competition program. The cream on the cake is the international jury, the members of which all speak the language of children!”
